Research & Development
With consistent lush harvests of seaweeds, Trading Room sought to determine and scientifically substantiate claims about seaweeds abundantly found in Philippine coasts.

To do this, Trading Room collaborated with top Filipino scientists from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and the UP Marine Science Institute (UPMSI). After years of research and laboratory tests, UPLB has found Eco Life G1 to improve the gut health and over-all animal health. Further collaboration includes UP Visayas (UPV) in Iloilo, and the Philippine Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Studying and Developing New Products and Applications
Other research projects on different seaweed applications are continuously being conducted today in an effort to deliver the most benefits for people, animals and plants.
According to a study by Kidgell, et al entitled “Ulvan: A systematic review of extraction, composition and function”, the fundamental active constituent of Ulva lactuca is the soluble fibre ulvan, a gelling sulfated polysaccharide with biological activities including immunomodulating, antiviral, antioxidant, antihyperlipidemic and anticancer.
In its commitment to deliver the most nutrient rich, natural seaweed products, Trading Room continues to collaborate with experts worldwide to further research and discover more seaweeds benefits for animals, plants and people.
Collaborate with Trading Room
Researchers from the Philippines and around the world are currently working with Trading Room to continue research and development efforts across different fields in marine science, environment, animal health, human health, urban and rural planning, engineering, business and entrepreneurship, and others.
Trading Room believes ulva seaweeds have potential biomedical applications and to develop body of technologies in plant physiology, horticulture, and agriculture.
